Over the years many customers have requested that PEmicro should instead use node-licensing for its flexibility and utility. We listened and the V2 Hardware License was born. The V2 Hardware License is activated once and stored inside the Multilink or Cyclone. This allows the user to take the hardware with them to any computer and share the hardware and software with colleagues. It's no longer necessary to activate per user and per computer. All V2 licenses and associated software can work on Windows 7, 8, 10, and 11 on 64-bit computers To determine whether a PEmicro Multilink or Cyclone can support V2 licensing, the user should please take a look at the rear case label to identify the full part number and revision. This must match one of the following: MULTILINK DEBUG PROBES (2015+) CYCLONE PROGRAMMERS (2016+) If the PEmicro hardware interface matches one of the above, the user can purchase a V2 Hardware License and install it with ease. If the hardware does not match one of items listed above, users can take advantage of our Multilink trade-in program to get a discount towards a new Multilink, or our Cyclone trade-in program to get a discount towards a new Cyclone. Users can also consult a guide which details how to transition from legacy hardware to the newer hardware models which helps users understand what kind of hardware to get. Warning: We no longer sell or repair/replace legacy hardware products. Warning: V1 licenses are considered legacy products. This means PEmicro technical support or licensing team members are locked out in the ability to add activations, remove or modify previous activations, or allow sale of V1 licenses anymore. Once the license is used up to its maximum activations, then the license can no longer be used in future activations. Once users have the right hardware for their setup, they may upgrade their V1 license to the new V2 license. Conversion and Discount from V1 to V2 license Warning: Once the V1 license is used for discount, that license will become invalid and can no longer be used in future activations or future discounts. This action cannot be reverted. Warning: Users must use the new version of software to activate their new V2 license key. It will not work on older software.
Customers have largely been very satisfied with the switch to V2 Hardware Licensing, and this is our main licensing system moving forward. Please note, however, that the new V2 Hardware License can only be installed on PEmicro hardware that we have sold since 2016, due to the limitations of the chipset and drivers used in our legacy hardware products.
