I currently can program the MC68332ACFC25(old unit) but cannot connect to the MC68332ACEH25(current build)

We are building a product we have not built in a while, but the design is the same as previous I am able to connect to an old unit with MC68332ACFC25 but cannot connect to any of the new units with MC68332ACEH25. The only difference I am being told is ROHS versus Leaded. My setup seems correct since I can connect to the old unit. I am using PE USB Multilink with PE software. I only have 2 options for connection so selecting the MC68 which works with the leaded part.

Just curious what may be causing no connection? The yellow power light is coming on Multilink when power is applied so appears power is good.

Hi Larry,

The packaging should not matter while establishing connection and these two processors should connect exactly the same way. I would suggest a lower shift frequency when attempting to connect or a reset delay of around 200ms to try to improve communication.

Steve

Tried multiple shift frequencies with and without a reset delay and same results.

I'll keep digging.

The /reset line is at 0.07V on my working it is at 4.85V. I do not see it changing when trying to program or reset to connect. I wasn't sure since the older unit had been programmed if there was something causing it to be at 4.85V but I did erase the old unit and it stayed at 4.85V. I did a module erase. Going to try and work my way through the /reset components to see if one is causing the issue.

Any other components in the circuit that may cause issues connecting? Change in Memory chip etc... had to find alternates due to market, but I assume that would show issues after connecting if it were the case. Will try with the suggestions and see if any work out. Thanks
