Hello,

I’m experiencing an issue with PROG12Z Programmer - Version 1.78 on a Windows 7 Pro 64-bit machine.

When I launch the software and get to the PEMICRO Connection Manager window, after selecting the interface "USB HCS08/HCS12/CFV1 Multilink - USB Port", the Port field shows the following message:
"Undetected. Disconnect/Connect USB cable. Click Refresh List [FAQ #29]"

I have followed the steps from the following FAQ page:
https://www.pemicro.com/faqs/faq_view.cfm?ID=29

However, I’m stuck at one step: I cannot uninstall/reinstall the "pemicrowindrvr.inf" driver because I simply don’t have that file on my system.

I also followed the advice from this forum thread:
https://www.pemicro.com/forums/forum_topic.cfm?forum_id=8&forum_topic_id=7907

Unfortunately, it didn’t resolve my issue.

Could someone please help me troubleshoot this problem?

Thank you in advance for your support!

Hello Martin,

Unfortunately, it looks like the minimum version required for Windows 7 compatibility is PROG12Z 1.90.

https://www.pemicro.com/products/product_viewDetails.cfm?product_id=15320181&productTab=1000000#version

Version 1.90 adds the following:

Now compatible with Windows XP/Vista/7 64-bit OS

You will most likely need to get a new software license and hardware. Can you tell me which interface youa re using? I'll let you know if that is the case.

Hello Johnny,

First of all, I apologize for my late reply.

The hardware we are using is imposed by the project context, so unfortunately, we are not planning to change it at this stage.

However, if it's possible to provide information or guidance on which drivers should be installed in order to get the current setup working again under Windows XP, it would be extremely helpful for us. We are considering reinstalling the system on Windows XP as a potential workaround.

If that also doesn’t lead to a solution, we will then consider switching to another software version, as long as it allows us to continue using the same hardware.

Thank you again for your support, and I look forward to your advice.

Best regards,
-Martin

Hi Martin,

You have to try the setup on Windows XP. We don't support your software version on Windows 7.

I would still like to know which PEMicro interface you are using so I have a complete picture of your setup.

Johnny

Hi Johnny,

I tried the setup on Windows XP. Despite having the drivers properly installed, I still encounter the same error message.

Additionally, I am using the USB Multilink interface USB-ML-12. Could you please let me know if you have any information on where I can purchase a second one, as they are no longer available on your website?

Best regards,
Martin

Martin,

I hope you didn't install our latest drivers that is currently downloaded from our website because they don't work on Windows XP and could mess up the PROG 1.78.

Did you install only PROG 1.78 which should come with the Windows XP drivers.

Johnny,

No, I installed the ones indicated on your website for Windows XP.

Martin
