  • I get the following error when trying to run the software for USB Multilink on Windows XP: "Could not contact BDM interface. Error 45 during scripts".

The device has the latest firmware. The software version is

  • Greetings,

What software specifically, and which hardware interface with its revision do you have? This will tell us more of what is the problem.

Did this setup work in the past?

    • The hardware is Revision D. The software is PROG12Z version, and the driver version is 9.0.0. This setup was working until recently, when an older Rev C unit stopped working and was replaced with the current one.

      Thank you,

  • Greetings,

Unfortunately you will need to upgrade your software. Based on the PROG12Z release notes:

    PROG12Z v6.94.00.00
    26 July 2018
    - Support for USB ML Universal Rev D
    - Support for USB ML Universal FX Rev C
    - Support for Intel HEX Extended Address Memory

You will need at least version 6.94 from mid-year 2018 to support the rev D hardware.

Our software upgrade policy is you get free software upgrades within a year of purchase, and 50% discount within 2 years of purchase. Your purchase is outside of this discount window:

The benefit of getting the newer software is that it will work on newer machines like Win 10 64-bit, while your 2.00 version would have not worked in the latest operating systems.

  • Hi,

The operating system we use for this setup is Windows XP Service Pack 3 v2002. Will there be any issue using the software on this version? Is there a demo version that we can use to test and make sure the software is compatible?

    Thank you,

  • Greetings,

All of our software is backwards compatible down to Windows XP 32 bit. No, we cannot give you a demo software. If you run into issues our tech support team will be there to help you. If we cannot resolve the issue then we can return your money.

  • Greetings,

Do you have any questions or concerns?

  • Hello,

I have purchased the software and managed to get it running on the computer which is in use. It is working with the Rev. D Multilink and there are no problems to report, so you may consider this issue closed.

    Thank you,
