OSBDM debugger stopping MCF52259

  • I have a program that runs properly except execution stops when running with the debugger. There are no breakpoints and I can resume operation simply by pressing the "Go" icon.

    It always stops in a pause function where it's waiting for TMR3 to expire

    //Source :
    while ((MCF_DTIM3_DTER & MCF_DTIM_DTER_REF) == 0)
    {};

    /asm
    MOVE.B(400004C3).L, D0
    BTST #01, D0

    It always stop at the BTST instruction.

    The only strange thing I might be doing is compiling and generating the .elf with codewarrior, then loading it into the IDCFZ debugger.

  • Hi Phil,

    Just want to follow up to see if this problem was resolved.

    What version of ICDCFZ are you working with?

    Can you please share your elf and .s19 files by sending them to zahar at pemicro dot com.

    Best Regards,
    Zahar

    • Hi Zahar,
      I don't exactly recall what the fix was for that problem, but yes it's resolved.
      Probable cause was my lack of understanding how breakpoints worked and getting familiar with things.

      Thanks for the reply

      Thanks
      Phil
