Kinetis KL16Z32 customized Flash algorithm support

  • Hi P&E friends,

    This is FAE from NXP. My customer is using Cyclone FX for their KL16Z32VFM4 firmware programming. They want to reserve the last sector flash to store some key information, while the current existing KL16_32kB Flash algorithm(freescale_kl16z32m4_1x32x8k_pflash.arp) will do a mass erase before programming, which will broke their information. So would you please help to generate a new KL16 32KB Flash algorithm to remove the mass erase step and erase what they used excluding their reserved region? Thanks in advance.

  • Greetings,

    Better than creating a new algorithm, they can modify the algorithm to preserve data. When they do a mass erase, the cyclone will load the preserved range, erase the flash, then reprogram the data back.
