Please restore PEMicro Interface Debugging Support 2.9.6.201704281541

  • I have made the mistake of upgrading my Kinetis Design Studio 3.2 to "PEMicro Interface Debugging Support 2.9.9.201705152038".

    This crashes when setting a non-temporary breakpoint:
    /home/build/work/GCC-4-8-build/src/gdb/gdb/linespec.c:2445: internal-error: decode_line_full: Assertion `state->canonical_names[i].suffix != NULL' failed.
    A problem internal to GDB has been detected,
    further debugging may prove unreliable.

    The typical response to this issue is "just delete the breakpoints you have set for this project". This does not work. The bug remains. Here is how to manually reproduce the issue with the arm-none-eabi-gdb console:
    Temporary breakpoint 1, main () at ../Sources/main.c:21
    21      SCB->VTOR = 0x00000000;
    i b
    No breakpoints or watchpoints.
    b rf.c:86

    /home/build/work/GCC-4-8-build/src/gdb/gdb/linespec.c:2445: internal-error: decode_line_full: Assertion `state->canonical_names[i].suffix != NULL' failed.
    A problem internal to GDB has been detected,
    further debugging may prove unreliable.
    Quit this debugging session? (y or n) [answered Y; input not from terminal]

    This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
    Please contact the application's support team for more information.

    When trying to revert the faulty installation, this error occurs:
    No repository found containing: org.eclipse.update.feature,com.pemicro.debug.gdbjtag.pne.feature,2.9.6.201704281541

    Why has this been removed? Please restore it as soon as possible.

  • Hi Simon,

    From what you are describing, the KDS IDE you are using was somehow corrupted.

    My recommendation would be to install the latest PEmicro GDB plugin from our update site:

    http://www.pemicro.com/eclipse/updates

    In order to do so, please go to Help -> Install New Software -> point work with drop down box to PEmicro update site: http://www.pemicro.com/eclipse/updates

    Best Regards,
    Zahar
