Multilink : Upside down cable potential damage

  • Hi, I've got a Multilink Universal Rev D. and am using it with a coldfire board.

A colleague plugged the cable upside down into the board initially and we only get an 'cannot detect processor' error.

    Have we destroyed the multilink?

    • Hi William,

Do you have access to an oscilloscope to check the debug signals?

Please see the Multilink Universal technical summary:

      http://www.pemicro.com/downloads/download_file.cfm?download_id=376

The relevant section is Troubleshooting - Startup Reset Sequence for Port D – Coldfire V2/V3/V4.

If you believe your Multilink is damaged, we can issue you a RMA so you can send it back for analysis.

      Regards,
      Johnny
