  • Hello

We are trying to program a S9S08RN32 micro using the PROGHCS08 Programmer. We would like to know the various setting fo rthe Connection Manager. At the mormrnt, we are getting the following error.

"The target MCU is not responding. Please turn MCU power off (Under 0.1v), turn MCU power on, and then click OK. This will attempt to enter debug mode through a power on reset sequence."

Our current settings are as follows:

Interface: USB Multilink, USB Multilink FX, or Embedded OSBDM

Port: USB1: Multilink Universal FX Rev B (PEM7B5CEB)

    CPU: HCS08 Processor - Autodetect

Reset Options: Check box not selected for "Delay after Rest and before communicating to target for --- milliseconds".

Provide power to target : Checkbox selected
    Power Down Delay: 250 mS
    Power Up Delay: 1000 mS

    Thank you.

  • Greetings,

    1) You want to check the reset delay if your board has a reset circuitry. If you know it does not, then you can uncheck this. But if you are not sure, you should try adding a 200ms delay to see if it improves communication.

    2) For the RN32, what components do you have connected on:
    a) VDD,
    b) RESET, and
    c) BKGD?

    3) Are you using any adapters, custom ribbon cables, or other unique hardware that you should tell me?
