QSPI flash programming with Multilink Universal FX for MPC5645s

  • I used 'Firmware Updater Utility' to update FX firmware to MPC5xxx successfully. Only one Multilink was plugged into computer.

With the algorithms of Spansion_S25FL064P_2x32x2048k_QuadSPI_MPC5645S_parallel_Rev2.PCP and Multilink Universal FX, it could connect with MCU and asks for algorithms, while donwloading algorithms, it failed with hint, 'Error loading .PCP file: ... at address 00300001'.

I changed to Multilink Universal with the same operation and success.

Can you share your suggestion to overcome the issue?

  • Greetings,

Have you tried lowering the debug shift speed when using the FX? It could be that the communication is too fast and you need to downshift to make it work. This option can be found in the connection manager of the PROG or ICD software.

Try lowering the option down one by one until you tried all of the options.

  • Greetings,

    Any update on this?

After lower the operation frequency, it's ok on the programming.

  • Hello,
Now customer would like to use Winbond QSPI flash. Whether 'Spansion_S25FL064P_2x32x2048k_QuadSPI_MPC5645S_parallel_Rev2.PCP' could also be used for Winbond QSPI flash's programming?
If not, whether PEmicro will supply the algorithms for Winbond QSPI flash?

  • Greetings,

We have different algorithms for Winbond QSPI. Please create a support request ticket on our support page and we can give you the algorithm. Within the ticket please specify which Winbond chip you are using.
