USB Multilink Universal MkB and MkC - Failure to program 30% of MKE04Z8VFK4

Staff: Gerardo R.

  • I have now built 23 prototype boards using the Freescale MKE04Z8VFK4 processor.
I can only get 17 of the 23 boards to program using my Multilink Universal.
Is this a known issue and is any fix avliable.

I will send two failing PCB's away to be X rayed to confim the soldering of the processor is OK.

    Comments

  • I dont think its a Multilink Universal problem, I get the same results when using a ULINK2 programmer.

  • To be certain, you can check the SWD_DIO and SWD_CLK lines for debug traffic to/from the target. The lack of traffic should indicate pretty quickly if it's a fabrication issue.
