ELF file size limit issue

  • Hi,

We are using ICDPPCNEXUS debugger for PowerPC-5674F mcu.

When we try to download an elf file geenerated by windriver, it hangs. Same is also happening with flash programmer.

When we check we found, one ELF file with size ~500KB, able to successfully download and debug in the debugger and flasher but when we try to debug an ELF file whole size is ~5MB, it hangs and gives "script error". same is with the flash programmer also.

So is there a limit of ELF file size or ELF file size depends on the MCU flash memory size?

    One more question:
    - How to select the appropriate PCP file for the MCU we use?
    - How to understand from the naming convention of the PCP file?
