PEmicro takes its responsibility as a corporate citizen seriously, both as it relates to our products and our footprint as a company. RoHS, CE, Conflict Minerals and other certifications and programs help us to make sure our products live up to our own and industry standards. We believe environmental compliance is an essential part of doing business and strive to meet regulations and certifications that make the world a safer and healthier place for all. Conflict Minerals In 2010 the Dodd-Frank Act introduced regulations to prevent the sourcing of conflict minerals (gold, tantalum, tin, and tungsten) from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) or any adjoining countries that might be funding armed militant groups. Since then we have worked with all our suppliers to make sure the components that we receive to assemble our products do not come from these conflicted countries. You can read our Conflict Minerals Report Template online. RoHS Compliance In the early 2000’s the EU passed a measure called Restriction of Hazardous Substances, also known as RoHS. It banned potentially harmful substances including lead, mercury, cadmium and several others. Since then we have been producing RoHS-compliant products across our product line, for every global marketplace. CE Certification CE Certification ensures that products meet certain requirements for health, safety, and environmental protection standards, for products sold within the European Economic Area. PEmicro’s Cyclone programmers and Multilink debug probes are CE certified, which requires extensive testing to pass. ISO Certification ISO is an organization that sets international standards and specifications for products, services and systems. This can help to ensure quality and reliability. PEmicro maintains a list of the certifications of the companies that we partner with to build our products. For example our PCB manufacturers and assemblers have ISO9001, ISO14001, OHSAS18001, and TS16949 certifications. ECCN Classification ECCN is a classification used by the US government for export control of restricted goods. All PEmicro products are non-controlled - they are listed as EAR99 and do not require a license to be exported or re-exported. For today’s global companies, this makes it easy to get PEmicro products where they are needed in a timely fashion. Moving forward, PEmicro will continue to comply with industry standards on these and other important issues, and make decisions that promote good corporate citizenship. Any questions or concerns related to these matters can be sent to environmental (dot) compliance@pemicro.com.
