This performance boost allows you to work more efficiently and increase your productivity. Slash your programming and downloading times! P&E’s current ICD, PROG, and UNIT software all work with the card to give you a range of lightning-fast functionality. Want to increase your productivity even more? Plug in additional BDM Lightning cards to work with multiple targets simultaneously.
Use of the BDM Lightning is as simple as the following:
- Plug the BDM Lightning card into a PCI slot on your PC (or for the CPCI Card, a slot in your Industrial PC). You may plug in multiple cards if you wish to work with more than one target at a time.
- You can attach the optional IEEE1284 6-foot extension cable to the BDM accelerator card. This item is included with each PCI card.
- Connect a P&E BDM Interface Cable to the extension cable (or directly to the PCI card). BDM cables may be purchased as part of a BDM accelerator package (see below).
- Connect the BDM cable to your target and you’re ready to go - P&E’s PROG, UNIT, or ICD software can talk to your part 10+ times as fast as with the BDM cable alone!
The BDM Lightning accelerator works with P&E's parallel port interfaces for the following architectures:

- ColdFire
- MCORE
- Power Architecture 5xx/8xx
