Note: Replacement probes for the CABLE_CF include the USB-ML-UNIVERSAL and USB-ML-UNIVERSAL-FX. For a production environment, we recommend the Cyclone FX.
PEmicro's Shielded ColdFire Interface Cable provides access to the Background Debug Mode (BDM) on Motorola ColdFire microcontroller. It is the hardware interface between a standard IBM PC parallel port (DB25 female connector) and a standard 26 pin connector - the background mode header on a ColdFire target system. By using the ColdFire BDM Cable the user can take advantage of the background debug mode to halt normal processor execution and use a PC to control the on-chip resources. The user can then directly control the target's execution, read/write registers, memory values and program internal or external FLASH memory devices. The pin-outs of the BDM connector are specified by PEmicro. The ColdFire Cable is supplied in a small, protective, metallic-coated plastic shell.
The CABLE_CF is intended for use in development.
Full control of the on-chip resources via BDM
Full speed in-circuit emulation at a reasonable price
Programming for internal or external EEPROM/FLASH memory devices
Works with PEmicro's ICDCF debugger and PROGCF programmer
Separate versions available for 3V and 5V targets
Very fast downloads and stepping
NEW! Optional ribbon cable now available - see description to lower left.
UNITCFZ interface library, demo, and .DLL interface for custom testers and software is available for purchase

P&E Hardware Interface Drivers, Version 12 (Win XP/Vista/7/8/10)(2890 KB) Version 12.7 Adds support for 64 bit P&E applications. Also it includes the atom fix which affects very select users. Installs PEmicro drivers to allow applications to communicate with PEmicro hardware. Please note that not all hardware may be supported for your OS. This does not include the application level support which comes with the different products. Administrator privilege is now required. Released 11/30/2017.
ADDLPT - Specify/Use a PCI Parallel Port(246 KB) This utility allows PEmicro parallel port interface cables to make use of parallel ports which are specified by the user according to their address. This allows virtual or PCI based parallel ports which are not registered in the BIOS to be used. These settings
are remembered in the registry and are shared by different PEmicro applications.
