POWERPC® MPC55xx AND 68HC16/683xx USB DEBUG CABLES

P&E Microcomputer Systems has just launched two new USB 2.0 Multilink interfaces for Freescale processors - one for 68HC16/683xx devices, and one for PowerPC® MPC55xx devices. P&E's USB Multilink cables are PC-to-target hardware interfaces that allow software, such as in-circuit debuggers and programmers, to communicate, debug, and program the target processor via the on-chip debug module. With appropriate P&E software, the user can directly control the target's execution, read/write registers and memory values, debug code on the processor, and program internal or external FLASH memory devices.

BUILD SIMPLE AND EFFECTIVE TEST UNITS WITH P&E TOOLS

The process of testing products is often complex and expensive, and can require significant equipment and resources. However, the proliferation of embedded processors with on-chip debug capability has made a processor-centric test a simple and effective way to test your product. In this edition of the Expert's Corner, Kevin Perreault, Vice-President of Engineering, gives an introduction to the topic, followed by an example of how to use P&E's flexible tools to quickly build a simple and cost-effective application for program, test, and calibration.
