P&E's Full Chip Simulator for the RS08
P&E's incredible resource, the Full Chip Simulator, is available now for the Freescale RS08 Family. Precise Cycle-by-Cycle simulation of all CPU instructions and on-chip peripherals make this one of the most powerful development tools available for Freescale's new RS08 processor family. In addition, it is an excellent tool for learning how to use this newest addition to the Freescale family of microcontrollers-- without the need of any hardware!

This highly robust simulator allows virtually unlimited breakpoints, and offers the speed and reliability of PC-based simulation. Available as a part of P&E's PKGRS08 development package and WINIDERS08 Integrated Development Environment/Assembler.

PKGRS08 Software Package
P&E has released a full software kit consisting of:
  • SIMRS08 - Full Chip RS08 Simulator
  • ICDRS08 - In Circuit Debugger
  • PROGRS08 - In Circuit FLASH Programmer
  • CASMRS08 - RS08 Assembler with Development environment
PKGRS08 is a powerful development package that includes everything needed for the development of a full featured RS08 product. Start rapid firmware development with the WinIDE integrated programmer/assembler. Begin the debugging process with the precision of the RS08 simulator (see above for more information on the simulator). The easy to use, full-featured, and powerful ICDRS08 and PROGRS08 products are included for debugging and FLASH programming (respectively).

PKGRS08 is available with either the USB-ML-12E RevC hardware development as well as the Cyclone Pro RevC production/development interface.

DEVRS08KA2 Evaluation Board
P&E's new DEVRS08KA2 is the perfect tool for getting a jump start on a Freescale RS08 project.

The evaluation board contains an embedded P&E USB to BDM interface, which seamlessly enables easy debugging and flash programming of the development board's MC9RS08KA2 processor. The MC9RS08KA2 is an 8 bit device which incorporates 2048 bytes of FLASH EEPROM, 62 bytes of RAM, 8 bit timers, analog comparators and A keyboard interrupt module. The trimmable 20-MHz internal clock source allows up to 10-MHz internal bus operation. All of the processor's peripherals and resources are fully accessible via Freescale's integrated BDM Module-- which is easily accessible to the user via P&E's integrated BDM interface.

The on-board MC9RS08KA2 processor can be powered via the USB bus or by an external regulated 5-9 Volt power supply. The 2.5" x 1.5" development area provides an easy way for thru hole as well as surface mount prototyping.

The DEVRS08KA2 Evaluation Platform comes with the schematic of the MC9RS08KA2 circuitry on the board to help ease the transition from development to production.
