debug NXP MIMXRT1052 with 16MB QSPI Flash using Multilink ACP

Staff: Mika I.

  • I verified that the driver(USB Multilink 2.0) is installed correctly
but the Multilink does not work out of the box.

The same MCUXpresso project can be debugged fine uing J-Link.
I did have to change the configuration for J-Link from external HyperFlash to on-board QSPI Flash.
I am speculating that I may need to do something similar for Multilink ACP
but I can't seem to figure out how.

C:/PEMicro contains a directory called PEDrivers but I don't see anything related to different target processors.

    Help will be greatly appreciated.
    Regards,
    James

  • Hi James,

Most likely, you are just missing our Eclipse plug-in for MCUXpresso. Please download the plug-in and follow the directions in the following blog post, and let me know if that resolves your issue:

    • Thank you so much for your prompt response.
      It resolved my issue.
      Thanks a lot.

    • Dear Mika,
It seems like I spoke too soon.
After setting up a Debug Configuration for 1052QSPI with PEmicro Multilink,
      it worked once.
After that, I keep getting runtime error popup with a console message "Connection closed by the GDB server".

  • Hi James,

Could you open a Support Request (http://www.pemicro.com/SRS/main_screen_staff.cfm?project_id=1)? I'd like to see some screenshots of the error you're getting, and of your Debug Configuration settings.

You can mention me in the Support Request description, so that the SR is assigned to me.

    Best,
    Mika

    • Thanks for getting back.
Clicking on the link above(Support Request) takes me to

I confirmed that I am logged in (for I see User: james on the page).

  • Oops! I sent you the staff Support Request page. Please go to our Support page (https://www.pemicro.com/support/) and select "Support Requests."

    • I did and put a comment to assign it to Mika.
