Multilink Repair after misaligning BDM connector?

  • I managed to connect the Multilink BDM connector offset by one column.
I believe pins 1 and 2 were missed; and if so the BDM Reset was connected to device's VCC.

I can smell, but do not see the damage. Are there repair instructions available?

  • Greetings,

Users should not attempt to repair their own multilinks. You risk damaging future boards and even your computer if repaired incorrectly. Shorts typically fry all the components on the board, making it more expensive and time consuming. We typically go straight to replacement instead of repair.

You should send that unit in to us for replacement. Our replacement costs are cheaper than buying brand new. Cost depends on the type of multilink you have. You have not mentioned which part number you have.

If you wish to send the unit to us, please make sure all your contact information is in your PEmicro account. Then let us know when that is complete so we can assign an RMA ticket.
