Control Cyclone programmers without Windows

  • I'd like to control Cyclone programmers without Windows. We use multiple programmers simultaneously to create our devices. Currently the factory does this manually. Our production is ramping up and we want to automate the process, and add more assembly lines. We've built custom jigs that have multiple USB ports and have ethernet as well as about 50 connections to test points... basically an ATE. They don't run Windows and are not x86 based.

    • Hi David,

Can your ATE run an application and send hex data over RS-232 or Ethernet? We have a protocol for RS-232 and Ethernet. You should be able to develop an application that sends the hex commands directly to the Cyclone without needing to use one of our Windows based applications or DLLs.

      Regards,
      Johnny

      • Johnny,

Yes. That is exactly what we would like to do. Where can we get the protocol?
