RSA/AES Encryption added for production programming - image transfer from cyclone to microcontroller

  • hello, I have the following important question: if I use the encrypted esap files, the programming bytes that are send to the microcontroler from cyclone are still encrypted (AES/RSA)and decrypted inside the micro (through a suitable boot program ) before being written in flash or they are in plaintext?
Because if this were the case, it would be possible to intercept the bytes during programming and reconstruct all the image files.

  • Greetings,

Our current implementation of encryption is only between computers and Cyclones. This is to prevent 3rd party or rogue players from taking the SAP image for their own use. Note, that no one can read the SAP image out of the cyclone since the invention of the cyclone.

We do have plans and actively working on adding encryption between the cyclone and the target ARM devices that have the ability for this kind of security measure. For example, the M23 and M33 cores.
