56F8367 troubleshooting with UNVERSAL FX programmer
Bertrand M. Mar 8, 2018 at 09:19 AM (09:19 hours)
Staff: Johnny N.

  • I usually use a multilink universal FX to program kinetis KV46
with a PROGACMP software with MINI G connector which work correctly.

Now I try to program a 56F8367 with PROG DSC software (Version 9.40.00)
through PORTA connector (14 ports adapted to JTAG/OnCE 56F8367)

I have troobleshooting : Target is not responding

    By looking at signals :
    Reset is driven Low.
TCK is OK but TDI seems to be to heavily charged and my target doesn't respond. (This line is only connected to the micro controler)
If I disconnect this signal from the target the signal is OK.
Do I need to buffer the TDI link in order to get a correct signal on the target.(or a pull up resistor)

I also try to change the speed of jtag programming
but all the choice on DEBUG shift speed give the same TCK clock : does anybody experiment different speed with this firmware (Version 9.40.00) and PORTA connector for DSC.

    thank you for your help.

    regards

    Bertrand

  • Bertrand,

Do you have any components either passive(resistors, capacitors, inductors) or active (diodes, drivers, low voltage monitors) on any of the JTAG signals that could be causing issues? Please check your schematic or provide it to us.

As this is a public forum, you may open a private support ticket and attach your schematic.
Go to http://www.pemicro.com/support/index.cfm -> Support Requests -> Report a product bug or problem.

    Regards,
    Johnny
