  • Hello,

I just downloaded a latest Cyclone software (Image creation Utility Version 6.58.00.00). I open P&E Cyclone Universal Programmer, but don't see the program using to convert old SAP file from Cyclone MAX/PRO to Cyclone FX new SAP file?
    Please help
    Thanks

  • Greetings,

Have you checked the cyclone user manual about the converter? It will tell you which software to open and how to use it. If you downloaded the latest cyclone software package, then you have the utility to use the SAP_Converter utility.

  • Greetings,

Thanks for your comment#3, Yes I opened sap_convert_console.exe under ImageCreation folder, but this program doesn't open, I tried to click it many times.
    Thanks

  • Greetings,

Again, read the user manual. Have you found the user manual in your cyclone folder?

  • Hello,

Yes I followed the instruction below but it says the SAP Converter is not recognized.

    13.2.1 How Do I Use SAP_Convert_Console.exe?
SAP_Convert_Console.exe is a Windows command line utility and the software must be run
through the Windows Command Prompt. The utility can be found in the same folder as the
    Cyclone’s software install path.
    The command line parameter syntax:
    >SAP_Convert_Console [old_SAP_path] [new_SAP_path]
User Manual For CYCLONE FX Programmers 110
    Where:
[old_SAP_path] The relative or full path to the SAP file. Usually has the .SAP file
    extension.
[new_SAP_path] Optional parameter where the user can specify a relative or full path to
dump the output of the conversion. If path and file name matches the
input, then the output file will replace the input file. If this parameter is not
specified, the output will be dumped in the same path as the input file
renamed with postfix “_2”. For example if the input is myfile.SAP, then the
output will be myfile_2.SAP and will not replace the original input file.

  • Greetings,

Did you open a Windows command prompt, instead of double-clicking on the utility? What is the command-line parameter you used to start the conversion?

  • Hello,

Yes I did get open a Windows comment prompt"
    >PEMicro\cyclone\imageCreation\sap_convert_console.exe
    Application for conveting Cyclone images
    Version 6.58.00.00
    copyright 2017, P&E Microcomputer Systems
    Example usage:
    sap_convert_console oldImageFileName.sap newImageFileName.sap

I tried to type and enter my old SAP image, the message says:
'Windows' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
    operable program or batch file.

  • Greetings,

So you tried calling the software like:
    >sap_convert_console.exe myinputfile.SAP myoutputfile.SAP

    And you got an error?

    Takao Yamada

  • Hello,

    Yes, I entered this:
    C:\>sap_convert_console.exe 36757502015S_W_.SAP myoutput.SAP
    The error below
'sap_convert_console.exe' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
    operable program or batch file.

  • Greetings,

You should change the directory so that you are in the correct folder. Your Sap_convert_console.exe is not located within the C drive. You should be calling it like this:

    C:\>PEMicro\cyclone\imageCreation\sap_convert_console.exe 36757502015S_W_.SAP myoutput.SAP

    Takao Yamada

  • Hello,

    I followed your information

    C:\>PEMicro\cyclone\imageCreation\sap_convert_console.exe 36757502015S_W_.SAP myoutput.SAP
    Cannot find original file myoutput.SAP
    Error --- Error Code 1

    C:\>PEMicro\cyclone\imageCreation\sap_convert_console.exe 36757502015S_W_.SAP
    Cannot find original file 36757502015S_W_.SAP
    Error --- Error Code 1

  • Greetings,

You need to put the full path to your SAP image. And since I do not know where that is you need to figure that out. For example,

    C:\>PEMicro\cyclone\imageCreation\sap_convert_console.exe C:\myfolder\inputfile\36757502015S_W_.SAP C:\myfolder\outputfile\myoutput.SAP

    Takao Yamada

  • it worked. Thanks for your help
