BDM Debugging After External Reset?

  • I have a Multilink Universal BDM debugger for an HCS12 target system. It works fine for loading code and setting breakpoints within the CodeWarrior debugger.

But is there some way I can enable the BDM following an external reset? I would like the debugger to take control after a watchdog timeout so I can examine memory and registers. I have tried setting ENBDM and executing a BGND instruction on reset, and that doesn't do it.

  • Hi,

Sorry that you weren't given any answers to your question. Are you still trying to find a solution.

Our ICD debugger has a hotsync feature that can connect to a running device without resetting it so memory and register values remain unaffected. Have you tried this option?

    Regards,
    Johnny
