Multilink Universal FX with HC16

  • Hello,

    I have bought a Multilink universal Fx (upgraded from and need to use it to debug a HC16 micro(MOTOROLA MC68HC16Z1). Ages go I think we either used the Hicross debugger or the PE-micro's prog16z, however it seems like that version of prog16z only works on windows 95/98.
    (Currently on windows 7)

    Looking through the PEmicro website, I see ICD16Z 68HC16 In-Circuit Debugger or WINIDE16Z 68HC16 Windows Integrated Development Environment. However, it seems like the former only has 'beta' C source level debugging and the latter does not include debugger etc? Alternatively if there are other recommendations, please let me know.

    Which software product will work with the multilink universal to debug HC16 micro?

  • Andrew,

    If your application is developed in ANSI-C, you can debug it with the USB-ML-UNIVERSAL-FX in our ICD32Z.

    Please look at the HC16 development package.

    It comes with Windows 7 compatible versions of
    * PROG16Z flash programmer
    * ICD16Z incircuit debugger
    * WINIDE16Z
