Multilink Universal Fx dead after flashing wrong frimware

  • Hello,
I have accidentally flashed wrong firmware [Multilink Universal - usbmlppcjtag20_ens instead of usbmlfx20jtagens] in 'Multilink Universal Fx' debug hardware.
Now the debug hardware is not detected by computer[no Blue or Yellow LED on].

Is it possible to recover the hardware by any means [programming debug hardware via another tool / any software] ?

    Please suggest ...!

  • Hello, do you happen to know the hardware revision for your Multilink FX? Does the device still show up under the device manager? Also, you can try downloading and installing the latest firmware update utility and see if that helps.

  • Hello Gerardo,
    Thanks for feedback,
    - Hardware revision for your Multilink FX - Rev A
    - Does device still show up under the device manager - No
    - latest firmware update utility - as debug hardware is not detected by computer, it is not possible to use firmware update utility.

What I mean by 'recover the hardware' - by using another Multilink[or any other] for programming onboard freescale micro[on debug hardware] by using bdm.

    • No, this is not possible due to flash security settings that prevent reprogramming via the debug port.

      • Thank you for the reply.
