HOW TO CHANGE STANDART BAUDRATE

  • Dear P&E Team :)

How do I change the standart Baudrate with a MON08/ Cyclone FX?
I try to programm a 68HC908AP as fast as possible.
The chip is built in and clocked with 4.9MHz.
When i start programming it reads out a Baudrate of ca. 9616.
Can I do something for faster programming?

    Any tipps?

    Thank you very much
    Best regards :)

    • Hi Marco,

Which AP device exactly? We have some highspeed algorithms for them that up the baud rate. Did you try any of them?

  • Hi Johnny

    68HC908AP64.
Yes, I already tried the highspeed algorithms.

    Best regards

    • Did the baud rate change with the high speed algorithms?

  • Nope :)

    • Hi Marco,

The Cyclone Universal FX can provide a 9.830 MHz oscillator clock signal which is faster than the 4.9 MHz on your board. In the software, you need to select External Clock - 9.8304MHz - Div 2. This should give you a 19200 baud rate.

The only caveat is if your board already uses an crystal oscillator as its clock, the Cyclone may not be able to overdrive it.

      Regards,
      Johnny
