Flashing HCS08 family using Hi-Wave

  • Hi, I use to flash the .s19 files in the MCUs hcs12 family using hi-wave debug software and multilink without any problem.
Now I'm trying to to do the same using an MCU of HCS08 family (MC9S08SH8 in particular) but is not present in derivative list. Is it possible to flash this kind of MCUs using Hi-wave or i need PROGHCS08 software?

  • Greetings,

You are using a Codewarrior for HCS12. So go to NXP website and get the Codewarrior for HCS08! But if the license for Codewarrior is too expensive, then you could get our PROGHCS08 software. But PROG only flash programs. It does not debug or compile or assemble like Codewarrior provides.

  • Yes, i need only to flash and program.
    Thank you.

  • Greetings,

Then PROG is probably your solution. Do you already have the binary file (s-record or ELF file)? Then you should be all set:
