Program MPC5554 with PROGPPCNEXUS using s37 srec format

  • The free version of the PROGPPCNEXUS only accepts s19 srec files. I am thinking of buying the full version to enable programming of code size >64K. However, the IDE I use can only produce s37 files. Can I use full version of PROGPPCNEXUS to program this? Or is there another way i.e. use multiple s19 files?

  • Greetings,

I believe the free trial version can also accept ELF files as well.

S19 is just short hard for s-record indicating that S1 through S9 can be read and understood.

S37 is indicates that your s-record file only uses S3 through S7, but is well within the S1 and S9 range. You should be just fine.

You are right that the trial version can only handle one s-record or ELF file at a time as a limitation. The full version removes this restriction and you should have no troubles.
