Use MULTILINK to program in RAM
. Mar 15, 2016 at 11:28 PM (23:28 hours)
Staff: Takao Y.

  • Can I use Multilink to program the RAM in MPC563? I have already bought a Multilink, Codewarrior.

  • Greetings,

We have many flavors of multilinks. You need to be more specific.

You should check the product page for the multilink you have and see if your chip is supported. We support PowerPC Nexus (MPC55xx/56xx/57xx/58xx) and/or PowerPC BDM (MPC5xx/8xx), but each multilink supports different chip families.

You should also be more specific of which Codewarrior you are using.

    • Greeting,

I have read those product pages,

And we use PowerPC BDM to connect with MPC563, Codewarrior v8.7 in PC.those all support MPC563. While I have just used PROGPPCZ to erase the memory and program the module, the chip didn't change.

    • Status showed that erase finish, // error happens during programing from 0x0000000.
      look forward to your advice.

  • Greetings,

The product page you have shown to me is the USB Multilink Universal. No where does it say it supports PowerPC BDM MPC5xx/8xx. What you need is the USB Multilink Universal FX which indicates it supports PowerPC BDM MPC5xx/8xx:
