  • Hello,

I am using mc9s08dz48 micro. I am using pe micro multilink to debug the micro.
When I try to load the hex into micro it comes up with error 34. What might be the issue. I have done similar proj in the past but never faced such issue. I cheked the hardware, no issues at all.

  • Greetings,

Please detail me which software and its version you are using, which algorithm you are using, which P&E multilink you are using.

In the past have you used HEX files, or S19 or ELF files. You may need to convert your hex into S19/Srecord file.

    • Hello,

I am using PE Micro USB Multilink Interface. I am using freescale code warrior for software debugging, and I have used HEX files in the past and they worked fine.

      Thanks

  • Greetings,

Please understand we have almost 8 flavors of USB Multilink interfaces. You need to tell me which type and which revision.

Which Freescale Codewarrior are you using. Classic or eclipse? You are programming a hex file using Codewarrior? I did not know that was even possible. Usually a user would create a project in Codewarrior and compile and debug the project. Could you try creating a brand new project for your device and without changing any settings or code just try to debug the project. It should work just fine.

    • Hello,

Its codewarrior classic. No I am using C6808 code development system from byte craft to debug the program. The part number on multilink is USB-ML-12E.
I usually debug the software using C6808 and then load the hex generated into freescale codewarrior classic.

      Thanks,

  • Greetings,

Do you still have the projects from the past, and are they still working with Hex files? Were past projects also for the HCS08 architecture? I have never gotten an HCS08 chip to take a hex file.

Maybe I can suggest converting the file to s19 using our command line utility:

  • Yes I do. And I have used same HCS08 MCU for my previous projects too. It accepts HEX like a charm. No issues at all.

  • I tried to load S19 file. It comes up with this error

  • Greetings,

Before we resolve the hex file stuff, could you try creating a new project in Codewarrior and use your multilink to debug the default project? I just want to make sure you are even able to contact and flash program the chip. Without this basis, I do not know where to start debugging this problem.

  • how can i send you the BKGD schematics?

  • Greetings,

Why do you need to send me a schematic? Have you done any of the suggestions I have given you? What happened when you created a new project and debugged?

    Takao Yamada

    • It din work.

  • Greetings,

You can create a support ticket by going to the support page -> Support requests. There you can post your schematic if you think that will help. Could you also post your HEX file on the ticket so I can try to replicate the problem.
