ProgHCS08 crashes detecting Multilink

  • We have ProgHCS08 version 5.25. We recently updated ProgACMP on the same machine, but it did something to the Multilink driver. Now the driver says it's using version 11.7, but ProgHCS08 says it's undetected. If I try to refresh, then ProgHCS08 crashes and stops working. This was working previously with an older Multilink version (10), but I can't seem to uninstall the 11.7 driver. Does this ProgHCS08 version work with the 11.7 driver?

    • Hi David,

Can you please run the following driver test and post the results?

Drivers 11.7 is compatible with your version of PROGHCS08. I have used the exact same version on our PCs with no issues. When the application crashes what is the error message that you get?

      • Thanks Johnny, according to the driver test, it had a dll that wasn't right, so I reinstalled drivers 11.7. Now it passes the driver test, but ProgHCS08 still says it's undetected and it crashes. No error code, it just shows that it doesn't detect it, and if I click refresh Windows just says the program has stopped responding. Here's the driver test result:

  • I think I fixed it, but it seems there was a big problem with installing Windriver properly. I finally installed the driver for the Multilink Universal FX, and that somehow kicked the windriver into working; I noticed that although the Multilink ML 12 showed up under Jungo devices, there was no Windriver showing up, I think that was why ProgHCS08 was crashing. Interestingly, although installing the Multilink Universal FX driver fixed the Multilink ML, the Universal FX isn't working yet. Now the Windriver is showing up, though it says it's using version 10.1, and ProgHCS08 is able to program properly.
