  • Hi,
I want to get Codewarrior running under eclipse on Ubuntu 14. with the original USB Multilink Rev B

If I require new hardware, I will purchase it.

    will it work ?

Is there a guide to making it work ?

Thank you in advance, we can waste so much time on installations, better to ask someone who knows.

  • Greetings,

I know the P&E linux drivers will work on Ubuntu 14, but I doubt the Codewarrior software will work. You should contact Freescale to see if the software has been tested on the latest Ubuntu flavors.

If you are working on Kinetis ARM, then I know that Kinetis Design Studio (KDS) will work on the latest Ubuntu flavors because I test it often and our drivers work fine with all of our hardware interfaces.

    • OK,
Excellent work, I guess we are stuck with Windows XP.

I couldn't get it to run on Windows 7, with Freescale support.
When we tried approx 18 months ago, it was the P&E programmer which didn't work.

Do you think it will run on Windows 10 with the original USB Multilink Rev B ?

If I require new hardware, I will purchase it.

  • Greetings,

You could not get Codewarrior to work on Windows 7?! I can help you with that.
I want you to read my FAQ on this and see if you can get it working:

Right now all of our latest hardware and software will work on Windows 10. But I will be doing a test when Windows 10 actually comes out.

Which USB Multilink rev B do you have? Remember we have almost half-a-dozen different USB Multilinks.

  • Hi, the unit I have is not new...

    Rev B 0105
    USB HCS08/12

hence my willingness to repurchase equipment :)

  • Greetings,

My test indicates that it will at least work with rev C, but I believe we never tested with rev B.

My suggestion for you is the USB-ML-Universal rev C if you are going for cheap, but get the USB-ML-Universal FX rev B if you need something fast and can provide power to your target instead of relying on external power.

    USB-ML-Universal rev C:

    USB-ML-Universal FX rev B:

Both have been tested with Codewarrior on Windows 7 64-bit systems if you use the patch I posted earlier.
