Using PROPPPCNEXUS for programming fails due to no possibilty to choose base address?

  • Reading the Flash Programming Procedure via help page for PROGPPCNEXUS.

Step 2) "After you select the .PCP file, you will be asked for the base address. This is the address at which you would like to program the code. Enter the appropriate base address."

This will not appear for me, what could be wrong?

I assume my programming error could depend on this, not choosing a base address? It is set to 0x000000 default.

    my .pcp file is Freescale_MPC5634M_1x32x384k_LCFlash.PCP.

My .s19 file is starting like this:

My error when trying to flash is:

Checking range of S records. Checked.
Programming Address $ Error - out of memory
    . Error during programming

I might add also that I am using an trial (demo) license. Could this relate to my problems?

  • Greetings,

The trial will be the only reason the "Error - out of memory" would show up. So the problem you are facing is due to the limited 64K size. You will need to purchase a full-version of the software to have no size limitations:

The prompt for base address is mostly for external flash or devices that have internal flash that can be mapped to any location. For PowerPC Nexus, that is not the case.

    • OK!

      My order is sent, thx!
