PROGPPCNEXUS / Cyclone MAX -- Erase Byte / Word on MPC5554
. Feb 27, 2015 at 06:26 AM (06:26 hours)
Staff: Takao Y.

  • Hello all,

I work with the command line programmer (PKGPPCNEXUSSTARTER - Full Version) and the Freescale_MPC5554_1x32x512k_Freescale_H7F_32_Driver.PCP.

I would like to erase a defined section on this ┬ÁC and to write some new information into this section.

Is it possible to erase just a Word or Byte? Or can I only erase the whole modul?

    Thank you and best regards,

  • Greetings,

You must understand that flash technology cannot just erase a word or byte. Flash technology is based on pages or blocks of memory. You must erase a whole block. What you are thinking is EEPROM, which has the ability to erase or program bytes.

The trial/demo version will only allow you to erase the whole module. Once you get the full version, you will have the option to do block erasing for the MPC5554.
