Cyclone Max Error code $0007

  • Have been using a Cyclone Pro Max in our production environment for the past 5 months. Today the factory is reporting that the programmer is giving an ERROR 07 which means $0007: Error entering debug mode

This is happening on all boards coming down the line.

I assume my Cyclone Max is dead?

  • Greetings,

Your cyclone may not be dead, but here are some tips as to narrow your problem:

    1) Check the ribbon cable. This is the weakest link in the setup due to its flexible and bendy nature. Replace it and see if it solves your issue.

    2) It is hard to debug an issue from an automated script in the form of an image on the cyclone. That is why we include the PROG software within your cyclone max software package. Use the correct PROG for your chip architecture and try debugging using this tool. It is a step-by-step flash programming tool and hopefully help you in finding the problem.

    3) Do you have multiple images on your cyclone? If so, make sure you are selecting the correct image. I make this mistake all the time and takes me forever to figure out the issue.

  • Thanks for the tips.

I will let you know what the solution was after my factory tries thes.

  • Greetings,

    Any update on this?
