But for the first time if i flash through administrator mode then again logoff and then use the normal mode it flashes successfully.

        How to avoid this problem.

        Thanks and regards,
        Satya

        • Hi Satya,

What Operating System are you using?

What software are you running exactly?

Which P&E hardware tool are you using?

I just ran a test on a Windows 7 64 bit PC with a Standard User account that does not have any admin rights. On the account, I was able to program flash fine with one of our PROG applications using a USB Multilink. While installing the software initially, I had to enter in my admin account details but afterwards I could run it without. I don't have a PC on hand to test parallel port right now.

          Regards,
          Johnny

  • Hi Johny,

    Thank you for the mail.

    operating system : windows 7
Software: i am debugging through the codewarrior Hiwave.exe software that is flashing and debugging.
    P&E: BDM-Multilink parallel port

I dont know if it is a problem with the installation of codewarrior.

    Thanks and regards,
    Satya

    • Satya,

Thank you for answering my questions. There are a few issues.

We don't officially support the Parallel port BDM Multilink on Windows 7. You can see a list of supported OSes under System Requirements here:
      https://www.pemicro.com/products/product_viewDetails.cfm?product_id=32

I recommend you migrate to one of our USB options, either USB-ML-12 or USB-ML-UNIVERSAL, if you have to stick with Windows 7.

Codewarrior/Hiwave is not P&E's software. It was developed by Freescale. I don't know how much testing they did, if any, running Codewarrior on non-admin accounts.

As a sanity check, I actually changed my account on my Windows 7 PC from admin to a Standard User. Then I ran Codewarrior V6.3 and the Hiwave debugger. I was able to program and debug my HCS08 board with a USB-ML-12. There were no error messages related to privileges.

Do you have a USB-ML-12 that you can test?

      Regards,
      Johnny

  • Ok i will work with admin rights. In future i will try in other machine and if the same issue occurs i will try to report. As of now you can cosider the issue as closed.

    Thanks for the support,
    Regards,
    satya
