Missing file in PROG12Z install
. Jul 17, 2014 at 09:44 AM (09:44 hours)
Staff: Takao Y.

  • I installed the PROG12Z software on a Windows 7 platform with no errors. When flashing my system I got an ERROR 41 for a missing file. The missing file is 9s12dp256_256.12p. The vender of the box that I was updating the flash on was able to send me the file and the flash worked fine. Was this missing file an install error or is it not part of the latest versions?

  • Greetings,

The literal file name 9s12dp256_256.12p does not exist. What you should do is check your algorithms folder that comes with your install of the the PROG12Z software and find the file "Freescale_9S12DP256_1x16x128k_256k_Linear_16k_page.12P". This is most likely the file you are wanting to program. Give this a try and see if it works. If you are missing this file, you can always download our latest algorithms for free on our algo page within our support page:
