  • hi all..
I just started to learn Codewarrior not long ago.
Really need some help over here.

When i start to run the simulation in the Full Chip Simulation, this error popped out:
    "Error: At location 0061 -
Error: Attempt to use invalid or uninitialized memory"

It stopped at "LDA SCIR_DATA, X"

Do anyone have any idea how to solve this error?
What am I supposed to do?

    Hello Ben,

This really is just a warning.
It is trying to tell you that the location that SCIR_DATA resolves to has not been explicitly initialised or set by the programme.
Sometimes this is because you jumped into the middle of the code to simulate or it could be that you don't care.
I often end up adding initialisations with the comment "just to keep simulator happy"

  • Hello Ben,

Which device simulator are you working with? Out of the RESET, the SCI DATA registers are not initialized, which is the reason for this warning. You can just manually modify this value to a 00 to avoid receiving this warning. It should allow you to proceed with debugging the rest of your code.

    Best Regards,
