Using the ICD12Z debugger with a 9S12XEQ512

  • Hello all,

I recently purchased the ICD12Z debugger (v5.74.00.00) for debugging use on a 9S12XEQ512. I saw that this debugger supported the 9S12X, and took the leap of faith that it would support the 9S12XEQ512 derivative. Additionally, I am using the P&E Micro (multilink) to connect to my target.

I see now that my derivative is not supported in the PEMicro Connection Manager window. I've been selecting the 9S12XDP512 derivative in hopes that it may be close, and am able to connect to my target. Once I load the *.abs file, all of my variables/functions show up correctly. However, whenever I attempt running my application software it is halted consistently by the debugger. There are no active breakpoints set, and to my knowledge the debugger should not be halting the MCU. Can you think of any reason this may be happening, or do you feel it's due to my derivative not being supported? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  • I emailed a new 12devices.DEV file to the customer.
