Xilinx, Multilink Universal, Multilink Universal FX on Windows 7 - Driver Conflict
. Oct 21, 2019 at 10:42 AM (10:42 hours)
Staff: Takao Y.

  • The fix per FAQ ID #233 (http://www.pemicro.com/faqs/faq_view.cfm?id=233) was applied to be able to interface with the Xilinx and PE Micro debuggers without conflict. However, the following Jungo WinDriver versions are being utilized:

    Xilinx - 11.1
PE Micro Multilink Universal FX - 11.1
PE Micro Multilink Universal - 11.7

As you can see, the Universal debugger, in particular, is still utilizing the wrong Jungo driver version.

  • Greetings,

How are you able to determine which driver version the hardware was using? Are you having success running with the FX but not with the non-FX?

    Takao Yamada

    • Hi Takao,

We are able to verify the driver version by looking at the properties window of the device under device manager. Then, I went under the Driver tab -> Driver Details and the "File Version" numbers for each debugger is copied as shown in my original post.

  • Greetings,

Are you able to use the FX and not the non-FX?

    Takao Yamada

  • Yes, we are able to use the FX but not the non-FX.

  • Greetings,

What happens if you uninstall 11.7 and have the multilink universal use the drivers in 11.1? You can go to properties -> Driver -> Update Driver and browse the location in your computer. The hard part is trying to locate where the 11.1 sits in your computer.

  • Greetings,

    Any update on this?

    Takao Yamada

  • Hi Takao,

Unfortunately, there are no current updates as we are still trying to resolve the issue on our end with no success. Out of curiosity, will renaming the WinDriver via Windows Registry to, say, "pemicrowindrvr" help solve this issue in Windows 7? Per FAQ #233, this seems to be the root cause of the issue.
