USB-ML-PPCNEXUS with CodeWarrior Error 18

  • Greetings,

    I have a problem with CodeWarrior for MPC55xx/MPC56xx V2.1 and USB-ML-PPCNEXUS programmer.
Programming with CPROGPPCZ 1.40.00.01 fails with following errors:
    Error - out of memory
    Error during programming.
    ERROR 18 during script!
Since that message occured, I can nothing program anymore. Not even *.elf files which were already succesfully programmed on the µC a few days ago.
Every time programming stops with error 18.
The programmer as well as the µC were already replaced, but error 18 still appears. It seems to be a software problem.
Reinstall of CodeWarrior could not resolve the problem.

Please has anyone an idea to solve this error?

    Greetings
    M. Sch.

  • Greetings,

Do you have a legitimate license for Codewarrior? That error you are getting is due to your code exceeding the code-size limitation of the software. The Codewarrior software will not compile past 128K and the P&E software cannot load past 128K until you have a valid license.

Please work with NXP to make sure your license is in good standing.

  • Thanks for the fast reply, this helped me a lot. I had a wrong license file.

  • Greetings,

Were you able to get past the error 18? Do you have any other questions or concerns?

  • Yes, CodeWarrior works again, after taking the right license file.
This solved my problem. I have no further questions.
