interfacing with MKL16Z256VLH4

  • I am using your USM Multilink Universal DEvice to program and debug the Freescale MKL16Z256VLH4. I have two questions:
    1. Using the 10 pin port G plug, what pins on the processor connect to the TDI and TDO pins on the G plug. The pins for SWD-DIO and -CLK are obvious.
    2. In order to program the device, can you only accomplish this as part of the debug command?

  • Greetings,

Did the tech summary answer all of your questions?

  • Thank you for your answer. It answered the first question as I was hoping but not the second.

  • Greetings,

For you to flash program and debug using our tools, you do need to have the chip in debug mode. Otherwise, the chip will not respond to commands like erase or program because it is busy executing the code in flash. After programming, the P&E hardware interface can be disconnected and after power cycling the chip/board your code will execute outside of debug and function in Run mode.
