Cyclone Max weird state

  • We are currently using the PEMicro Cyclone Max (FW 7.90) to program 2 Kinetis (K22) processors as part of our manufacturing environment. During each test run we use the USB interface to load two images to the Cyclone Max, then use the JTAG daisy chain mode program the images to the micros. We are using the automated cyclone control SDK. We have observed two different times, about a week apart, where the Cyclone Max stops responding to the control PC and no longer programs. Simply resetting the PC or the Cyclone Max does not work. The last time it finally began working after we manually removed the images from the Cyclone, reset the Cyclone, rebooted the PC and re-transferred images back over to the Cyclone. Then we used the automated process to try again and it was successful. Is there a fix for this problem in new Cyclone Max FW or HW?

    • Hi Jeff,

It would be very helpful if you can figure out the steps to make the issue occur. If I can reproduce it, then it'll be more straightforward to track down the root cause and fix it.

We are getting ready to release a new version of the Cyclone SDK soon. Let's have you update to that and to the latest Cyclone Max firmware and see if it helps. I'll keep you updated.
