Cyclone MAX Power LED

  • Hi,

I have inherited a Cyclone MAX for my project and I'm trying to determine what my target connectivity problem is.

Looking at the front of the Cyclone MAX I see all LEDs flash on and off in sequence briefly when it is powered. At the end of this sequence I am left with the Ready LED on, and all other LEDs off.

From section 3.13 of the manual I was kind of expecting the Power LED to remain on - it is definitely lighting up in the power up sequence but turns off after this.

The Cyclone MAX is taking 460mA at 6V.

    Is this expected behaviour?

    Regards,

    Alan

  • I should have said that it is a Rev. A model.

    • Hi Alan,

Yes the behavior that you are describing is expected. The Power LED on the Cyclone Max is not actually utilized because it cannot provide provide power to the target (the only reason it is there is because the design is shared with another one of our stand alone programmer that does have this capability). This is the case for the Cyclone Max Rev A and Rev B.
