Issues connecting with micro HC12 using Multilink universal

  • My current set-up:
    Windows 7, 64 bit
S/W :Freescale Codewarrior IDE version 5.9.0
BDM option using the Multilink universal (blue)
    Micro-HC12 series
I was able to communicate with my board, download binary files using the multilink with out issue previously(few months ago. I am trying to do so now and it throws an error "The debugger cannot connect to the P&E BDC interface or targeted H/W board".

I have looked at the device driver under Jungo: I have the USB Multilink 2.0 and Windriver both with latest drivers. I am not sure what to do at this point. Any help is appreciated.

  • Greetings,

Did you make any changes in the last few months that could cause this problem? Did you upgrade to a Windows 7 machine? Did you change the firmware inside the multilink?

Use the utility here to make sure you are using the latest firmware. Use the firmware updater utility and ensure you are using the BDM firmware for HCS08/RS08/CFV1/HC12:

Also read up on this FAQ if you need to make changes to your CW install:

  • Hi Takao,
It works now!I did update with the latest firmware. I did not reinstall the cw though and it seemed to work well.
    Thanks for your help.
