How to unsecure S12VR and S12ZVM?

  • Dear Sir:

We are using S12VR and S12ZVM, and some parts were secured and could not be unsecured/mass erase through Codewarrior/Multilink.
Could you help to check if unsecure_12 supports these two MCU? Or is there any other tool for this?

    Appreciate your help!

    Best Regards,
    Wang

  • Greetings,

Unsecure 12 is only for the HCS12X devices. The S12Z architecture is different.

You should make sure you have the latest Codewarrior version. This ensures you have the latest fixes and firmware. Latest Codewarrior is 10.6.4, or 10.6.5 if they have publicly released it now.

If it fails in Codewarrior 10.6.4, then even our P&E software will have issues as well.

    • Hello Takao:

Thank you very much for your help again.

Just one more question, could you help to confirm from your side if S12VR can be unsecured with unsecure_12 or Codewarrior v5.1?

We will also try S12ZVM with Codewarrior 10.6.4 from our side later.

      Thanks!

      Best Regards,
      Wang

      • Greetings,

I was not able to locate a S12VR to confirm on my computer that it can be unsecured. But there are only 3 unsecure methods and S12VR is under the "generic" method. You should have no troubles.
