Trouble installing Nexus Devel Package (to work with MPC5554 board)

  • I'm having trouble installing this software on a Windows 7 laptop.

The software *was* installed and was working --- when I tried switching the default GCC compiler to the Windriver Diab Compiler, things didn't work well,
so I decided to try uninstalling and re-installing.

    I'm getting the following error:

Failed to install the INF file (C:\windows\inf\windrvr6.inf).
Error updating the driver (hwid:*WINDRVR6) with the INF file:

Then a second error dialog box saying pretty much nothing (something like
"Installation failed"), then a third window saying:

Error 1722. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A
program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected ... etc. etc.

Any ideas on what to do?

    The setup:

Lenovo ThinkPad T430 running Windows 7.

Device connected: P&E Micro USB Multilink interface (Freescale enabled)

Board: PHYTEC phycore-MPC5554 (with an MPC5554 MCU, of course)

    Thanks,
    Carlos

  • Oh! Forgot to add: I checked the directory, and the file was there; deleted it, retried, and got the exact same outcome.

Then went to the registry and removed every item that contained pemicro. Retried installation. Exact same outcome.

    Thanks,
    Carlos
